Frequently asked questions
When is the event happening?
The event will be on August 23 to 25, 2024 (Friday to Sunday). Friday will start at 5PM and end at 10PM. Saturday and Sunday will run from 8AM to 10PM.
Where is the event happening?
The venue for the event will be at the Centrio de San Jose (Old Holy Spirit School) in Tagbilaran City. Main plenary will be at the BIR Auditorium in the 3rd floor.
Do we have to stay for the full 3 days to participate?
Yes. If you do not intend to participate fully for the 3 days, please let the organizers know so that they can exclude you from the team activities.
What do we need to bring for the event?
Anything you need to work and be productive! Normally, these are laptops, tablets, notebooks and pens, and for the uber-prepared, extension cords.
Is there a dresscode to follow for the event?
A comfortable, casual attire is recommended. Shorts and slippers are okay. Just make sure you wear your event ID on the days of the event so that security knows to let you in.
Do we get a cash prize if our team wins?
No. Techstars Startup Weekend is primarily a learning program. So the focus of the event is to teach participants the skills and mindset to start their own tech entrepreneurial endeavor. Winners might attract attention from potential investors, but this is at the discretion of the individuals spectating and is not part of the program flow.
